Senior Lecturer in Advertising at Bournemouth University, with special emphasis on Strategic Planning and Applied Creativity. Cliff spent 30 years in advertising and marketing consultancy in various parts of the world, prior to joining Bournemouth University in 2006. He has worked for, and with, some of the world’s leading agencies and marketers, such as Lintas, Lowe Worldwide, Unilever, Nestle, Coca-Cola, Dulux, 3M, Mercedes-Benz, HSBC and IBM. He has delivered papers at major international conferences (Global Diversity, Age Matters, Brand Activation) and is actively involved with several industry bodies. Over the past five years, Cliff has guest lectured (and run bootcamps and practical workshops) in Spain, Argentina, South Africa and the Netherlands. He has also served as a judge in several advertising and creative award programmes.

Inge Barkmeijer, The Hague University, The Netherlands
After ten years of work experience in the field of Marketing and MarCom, Inge Barkmeijer has been lecturing at The Hague University. Inge is dedicated to help students grow into young marketing professionals. Gaining further knowledge and sharing that knowledge in the field of branding, marketing communications and the use of social media in a business context is where her professional interest lies. Passionate about consumer behaviour and international differences, she started studying again and obtained her Master title in International Communication Management in 2010. As a juror in the Ad Venture Student Competition, Inge will keep an eye open for the teams that are able to crawl in the footsteps of their persona(s), choose the right tone-of-voice and the most effective channels to make a difference for the client.
Dr. Elizabeth Sweet
A Sociologist who studies gender and children’s toys. Her current research examines changes in the gender marketing and stereotyping of children’s toys over time to understand how gendered toys relate to larger issues of gender inequality. She has written on the topic of gender and toys for The Atlantic and the New York Times and her work has been featured in many national and international press outlets. In 2016, Dr. Sweet presented on her work at a White House conference on gender and children’s toys, and her research has also informed recent public policy debates in California and in Australia. Dr. Sweet received her B.A. in sociology with top honors from Oregon State University and she earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in sociology at the University of California, Davis. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology and Interdisciplinary Social Sciences at San Jose State University.
Madalina Moraru
My PhD. focused on the mythical dimension of the advertising. Therefore, I authorized 2 books in Romanian and over 20 articles in English, few chapters, I took part in many international conferences (around 25 in the last 7 years). I’m active by getting involved in the industry’s projects, and being invited to the most important events: Advertising Day, Fibra award,member in Romanian Effie Juries. I’m mostly in charge to work with students for AdVenture and Thesis competition.
Jean-Claude Hamilius
Graduated Diplom Designer at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Offenbach in Germany. Over the years he has been Art-, Creative- and Executive Creative Director at Young & Rubicam, Leo Burnett, Saatchi & Saatchi, DMB&B and McCann Erickson in Frankfurt and Düsseldorf, in charge at local, national and international level for e. g. Philip Morris, Procter & Gamble, Canon, Goodyear,Zwilling, Burger King, Yamaha Motors … Laureate of e. g. New York Festival, Art Directors Club, Eurobest, iF Design Award … He was founder and Creative Director of Consumers’ in Düsseldorf and started his academic career as lecturer for Graphic Design at the Lycée technique des Arts et Métiers in his home country Luxembourg, before he was named Professor at the Faculty of Design of the University of Applied Sciences in Mannheim in October 2007. For several years he was president of the jury at the Communication & Design Awards in Luxembourg, and in 2012 member of the jury at the „Junior Agency“ Students Awards of the GWA (German Association of Communications Agencies). Jean-Claude is also an edcom Board member.

Before becoming a teacher, I worked several years at a marketing communication agency with a focus on creating online campaigns for companies such as Philips, Proact, and Greenchoice. Rosie Hand
Senior lecturer in Marketing and Marketing Communications in the School of Marketing, Technological University Dublin. She is the Programme Director of the M.Sc. Advertising programme and the Postgraduate Diploma in Advertising and Digital Communications programme at her university. In addition to extensive teaching both nationally and internationally, she is engaged with curriculum design, development and implementation across her college. She supervises research at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Her research interests include organisational competencies in the digital space, the use of humour as a strategic organisational resource and the role of creativity in marketing communications.
Rosie's industry experience includes areas as diverse as international marketing of textiles and luxury consumer goods; sales and marketing in commercial radio; directorship of a dedicated specialist media consultancy firm; and marketing consultancy in the fields of education, financial services and eco-friendly waste management.
Amber Burton
Course Leader & Senior Lecturer. An established academic and practitioner in advertising and digital media. Amber believes in the power of advertising to make the world go round. She brings over 20 years of industry experience, running her own agencies and consultancies, along with 15 years of academic researching and lecturing to undergraduates and postgraduates. She has, in her career, interviewed more than 1000 advertising hopeful candidates, and is passionate about employability, opportunity and creativity. She is also a stickler for attention to detail and known to correct the spelling on dinner menus. Students who work with her can expect energy, encouragement and liberal doses of common sense, coupled with the wisdom of academic enquiry and the drive of professional practice. She is currently working on a PhD on Digital Identity, and leading the MA in Advertising Strategy & Planning at Falmouth University – the first fully online Masters programme in Advertising in the UK.
Alexandre Duarte
With a PhD in Communication Sciences from University of Minho, a Master's degree in Communication & Image and a degree in Marketing & Advertising by IADE, Alexandre is the Ruler of various classes in IADE, visiting Professor in several Universities, developer of the Research Unit CECS from Univ. Minho, and Course Coordinator of OFICINA de PORTFOLIO™.
Throughout his career, Alexandre had the opportunity to work for several multinational advertising agencies, in Portugal and Brazil, such as TBWA, Saatchi & Saatchi, Ogilvy, W/Portugal, W/Brazil, Lowe&Partners, or BrandiaCentral as a Senior Creative Copywriter.
Author of many seminars on communication, regularly participates in different conferences and lectures in both business and academic contexts.
It is the former Communications Director of the Portuguese Federation of Krav Maga, Text Editor of the Surf Magazine SOUP and occasionally collaborates with many other academic and professional media.

Born in the UK, Kirstie has been living in Vienna for 20 years. She holds a BA degree in German, and a General MBA. Her marketing experience includes various positions at Coca-Cola MENA, Sellotape UK, REWE Konzern, Frisch & Frost Austria. Her last corporate position was heading the Indirect Sales team at OMV Austria. She started at the Vienna University of Applied Science in May 2016 and teaches Branded Entertainment, PR and co-ordinates adjunct lecturers for the English taught modules.
José Martínez Sáez
Ph.D. in Communication and Professor of Creativity in Advertising and Innovation in Communication. International Coordinator of the Faculty of Humanities and Communication Sciences. As a Research Fellow has held postdoctoral research stays in the United Kingdom, in the Netherlands, in Belgium and in the USA in Michigan State University. He is the leader of a research group whose project is entitled "A Little Rock & Love: creative resources used by brands to attract the attention of consumers and earn their respect in the context of the digital age." He also has a long experience as a strategic consultant for different national brands in the field of beauty, food, energy and the environment.
Joana Desmet
Joanna Desmet has loved advertising since she was born. Therefor she became a lector in Advertising and Advertising Strategy at Howest University of Applied Sciences in Belgium. She believes working with students keeps her brain up and running. Ann works currently as a programme manager International Communication and Media, at the Thomas More University of applied science. She is a seasoned marketing and communication expert with more than 25 years of experience in different companies. Ann started her career in advertising, as an account manager and continued as advertising manager for Nike and Kipling. In 1999, she started to work as a freelance consultant with a focus on international product management, brand management and marketing communications in a variety of industries: FMCG, Telecom, Media. Recently, she has obtained an additional degree as a personal coach for young marketers.

Andrea van Zuuk is a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht where she teaches different kind of subjects at the education of Communication. Before teaching, Andrea worked as a study coordinator at the same University of Applied Sciences. She also is an active member at CNV, a trade union, where she is the secretary of CNV Young.
Jo de Bruyn
Lic. German Phil (RU Gent) and post-univ. courses Marketing and sales Ehsal (Brussels), has a wide experience in marketing & communications. He started In different Belgian communication agencies as a direct marketing expert & client director. In 1996 he founded In Concreto, a no-nonsense communication agency specialized in action marketing. From 2014 Jo is also leading the DM Institute, a community of 300 direct and digital marketeers in Belgium in order to inspire each other with clear cases and workshops. From 2015 Jo is also lector for Direct & Digital Marketing courses for all the marketing communication students of HoGent. David Reid
Holds an Honours degree from Charles Sturt University (Australia), a Masters degree from the University of Sunderland (UK), and is currently completing a Doctorate at the University of South Australia. He has taught advertising for over a decade at four Universities, commencing in the United Kingdom, then Malaysia and now Australia – currently a tenured academic at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne. David’s research focuses on the benefits of authentic learning and work integrated learning practice for the advertising marketing communications industry.
Suzanne de Bakker
Suzanne is lecturer International Commercial Communication and senior researcher in the research group Human Experience & Media Design at the Hogeschool Utrecht, The Netherlands. Se is also lecturer Corporate Communication at the University of Amsterdam. In April 2017, her book ‘Content Marketing’ is published. Ivan Landzhev
He is the Creative Director for Coca-Cola at McCann Sofia. An award-winning poet, author of 4 books. His poems have been translated into several languages. He holds a PhD in Russian classical literature and teaches courses in Russian literature and creative writing. Screenwriter, wrote for some of Bulgaria’s most popular TV series.In his short career in advertising so far, he has won some prestigious awards, including a Golden Effie for a Coca-Cola project in 2019.
Jan Binar
He is the managing director of McCann in Prague, President of the Association of Communication Agencies in the Czech Republic and member of the board of European Institute for Commercial Communications Education. He also participates in a number of non-profit organizations and is an external lecturer at University of Economics in Prague and a member of YPO. Under his leadership, the McCann Worldgroup in Prague has been recognized for delivering outstanding commercial results to clients by winning the most Effie awards several years in a row. He has also led McCann Prague to become one of the most creatively awarded agencies in the region; winning many prestigious Gold and Bronze Lions in the Cannes Lions competition and a Gold in the Golden Drum Festival.

Maša works as a Media Planner in Pristop Media, a media agency that is a part of Pristop Group. She joined the team in 2016 while she was still a student and is now independently handling clients from different industries as a media strategist. She likes numbers and formulas and dedicates a lot of her time to analytics. She can handle large amounts of data and finds something useful in every pivot table and chart.

Mathilde Gollety
Mathilde Gollety is a full professor in marketing in Paris 2 Panthéon Assas university. She is member of the External Research Advisory Board of Excelia Group since 2017. Doctor of Management Science, she is director of the Master Marketing and Communication, which is full in apprenticeship. With two colleagues, she created a diploma in Law and digital technologies in 2016. Her main area of expertise is the children’s consumer behavior, qualitative methodologies and innovation. In recent years, her research has also focused on the population of researchers and their motivation to held their job. Barry Ferguson
Barry has nearly 25 years of communications and advertising experience having worked at New PHD, Global Radio OMD, Gamesys, MediaCom, Carat and Zenith. He is rare in that he has worked on all three sides of the communications industry; he has been a client, a planner and has also worked at a media owner. As such he has a full perspective of how the industry operates. As you would expect he has worked on hundreds of campaigns for dozens of clients and has significant experience of both implementation and strategic communications planning. In his current role he is responsible for teaching 'Define, Design, Deliver' which is Zenith's communications planning process to all planners. He is married with two children and certainly qualifies as a ‘fun’ Dad - “I’m not sure who is more grown up, them or me”. He is a strategy games nut and peers consider him to be an expert at Chess, Backgammon and Poker.
Berkant Avci
Berkant Avci is Yildiz Technical University Economics graduate and holds a master’s degree in Marketing Communication from Galatasaray University. He is currently working as the Executive Strategy Director in Medina Turgul DDB whilst writing about generations and communication trends in MediaCat as a columnist. Dan Mares
Dan is a communication strategy consultant with an interest in technology and a focus on young audiences. He has worked with various agencies, both in Romania and abroad, from McCann Prague (as a Digital Strategist) to Publicis (Strategic Planner) and others. Dan has experience with various industries (FMCG, Telecom, Cosmetics, Banking) and different projects (Rebranding, Repositioning, Brand Strategy and specific campaigns). As a Digital Strategist for McCann Prague, he was directly involved in developing the new Vodafone Youth Platform. Andrea is a long-time agency and Marcom executive having worked at Grey, MediaCom, Carat, Telenor, and DMK - in an advertising agency, media agency, and as a marketer - creative and analytical side of the business. As executive and director, she worked on top-tier brands, covering a wide array of industries such as FMCG, telco, retail, travel, startups, luxury, automotive, entertainment, SaaS, tech, finance, healthcare. She is a passionate advocate for female equality and founded Equality & Diversity chapter in the Croatian Association of Communications Agencies to improve how girls and women are portrayed in the media. She also served in the role of Board Member in the Croatian Association of Communications Agencies and Jury Member at Young Lions and Effie Awards. Zozeta Miliopoulou
Zozeta Miliopoulou has worked in advertising for over 20 years, as a copywriter and creative director, winning distinctions in the Ermis Advertising Awards for Creativity in Greece. She was also the co-founder and Creative Director at Tenfour Advertising. Having studied Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology, she attended the Cultural Management Graduate Program in Panteion University, graduating with a top performance scholarship and then completed her doctoral thesis on cultural branding & communication. Dr Miliopoulou has offered courses in academic institutions of Greece and Cyprus, on marketing, advertising, communication and new media. Diala Awad
Diala Awad is an Associate Director at Procter & Gamble Geneva in the BBIC (Brand Building and Integrated Communication) department. Diala started her career at Procter & Gamble in Geneva in 1992 as an Assistant Brand Manager on the Health & Beauty Care business for the Lebanese market. She pursued a Brand Management career across multiple brands and geographies, including the exotic French island territories of Reunion and Mauritius! Nichola Mullen
Nichola is a strategist who is passionate about driving social change. With over 20 years’ experience as a marketer and fundraiser she has master minded fundraising and marketing for SVP, one of Irelands largest charities, for the past six years. Prior to which she led fundraising and marketing for Arthritis Ireland and was a Director in the marketing agency, Strategem. She has a MSc in Applied Positive Psychology from the University of East London, a Diploma in Business Studies from UCD Michael Smurfit and a BA in Psychology from UCD. She applies this unique perspective on human understanding to her marketing and fundraising activities which have, despite the challenges in the not for profit sector, continued to provide those most in need in our society with much needed support.

Creative director at McCann Zagreb. Started as a junior copywriter at a no-name agency in Zagreb, Croatia. After 2 years upgraded to what is now Bruketa&Žinić&Grey, did a whole bunch of advertising there for next 11 years; worked as a copywriter, senior copywriter and creative director. In March 2018 joined McCann Zagreb. Won a handful of awards, mostly of the local variety, like Effie Awards, BalCannes and IdejaX.
Leda Papamichael
My career in advertising started in 1993. I have worked in many advertising agencies, Grey Athens, Spot Thompson, ZenithOptimedia, Mindshare. From several years I was leading the Greek P&G Planning AOR team and was responsible for all P&G brands communication planning. In 2008 I joined Mindshare where I manage the entire media function for the leading Greek Telecommunication Company, no 1 advertiser of the market. I am a founding member of the Digital Council of the Greek Advertising Association. I teach Media in seminars in order to recruit young people into the field. I hold a bachelor of Science in Mathematics with specialization in Operational Research and Linear Programming
Laura Baeyens
Laura is Communications Manager at the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA). She manages WFA’s social media presence and is the main point of contact for the organisation’s network of national advertiser associations in 60 countries. Laura previously worked for the communications department of the European Parliament and holds a Master’s Degree in Communications. Combining Belgian and Philippine nationalities, she is an amateur record collector and enjoys running with her two huskies.
Ioana Danila
Ioana has over 12 years of experience working with leading global research companies including Ipsos, GfK and TNS. She recently relocated to Europe after a number of years working with Ipsos in UAE and Vietnam. In her role at WFA as the Global Insights Manager, Ioana is responsible for key global research projects as well as developing WFA’s database of insights. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Bucharest. Ioana is passionate about understanding human behaviours, with a particular focus on cultural diversity. She fuels her curiosity through travel and has the big ambition of visiting every country in the world.
