In 1995, Howest,University College West Flanders became a single autonomous Higher Education Institution because of a merger of six prominent institutions of higher education in Flanders. Since then the development within Howest has taken on a fresh impetus and we are now one of the leading providers of higher education in the province. Today about 6000 full-time students are enrolled at Howest pursuing 23 Bachelors covering a wide range of disciplines. Howest consists of five campuses situated in Bruges, Kortrijk and Ostend. The university offers an open, vibrant, cosmopolitan and friendly environment and a wealth of educational opportunities, with an emphasis on high quality and practice-oriented courses.
Isabelle Van Tomme
Isabelle Van Tomme is a lecturer and Senior Course Tutor at the Faculty of Communications Management in Howest University College, Kortrijk, Belgium. She holds an MA in applied linguistics (Spanish-English) and a BA in Commercial Organisation and marketing. Her academic work focuses on various fields such as English, intercultural communication and sales-marketing. She is also acting as International Relations Officer for the Faculty of Communication Management and for the faculty of Tourism and Leisure Management. Prior to full-time lecturing, Isabelle worked as Sales Consultant and Sales Communications Manager for the advertising department of Corelio (now Mediahuis), one of the biggest media compagny in Flanders. This position allowed her to experience various aspects of the advertising world (agency/advertiser/media).
