Bournemouth University has a strong professional orientation with a focus on academic excellence and graduate employability. The university is recognised as the only Centre for Excellence in Media Practice in the UK and graduates from the National Centre for Computer Animation. Bournemouth University is at the heart of the largest non-industrial conurbation in Europe. It is in a wonderful location sandwiched between the UK’s newest national park, best beaches and largest natural harbour. Cliff Van Wyk is Senior Lecturer in Advertising at Bournemouth University, with special emphasis on Strategic Planning and Applied Creativity. Cliff spent 30 years in advertising and marketing consultancy in various parts of the world, prior to joining Bournemouth University in 2006. He has worked for, and with, some of the world’s leading agencies and marketers, such as Lintas, Lowe Worldwide, Unilever, Nestle, Coca-Cola, Dulux, 3M, Mercedes-Benz, HSBC and IBM. He has delivered papers at major international conferences (Global Diversity, Age Matters, Brand Activation) and is actively involved with several industry bodies. Over the past five years, Cliff has guest lectured (and run bootcamps and practical workshops) in Spain, Argentina, South Africa and the Netherlands. He has also served as a judge in several advertising and creative award programmes.

University of Bucharest

The University of Bucharest is rich in history and has been actively contributing to the development and modernisation of Romanian education, science and culture since 1694. Currently, the University of Bucharest comprises 19 faculties and 2 autonomous departments and over 30.000 students of which approximately 35% are enrolled in the master’s and doctoral programmes. The University of Bucharest is one of the most important research centers in the country, currently comprising over 50 institutes, departments, research centers, and 5 research platforms and was ranked by the Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sport as the first university for advanced research and education. The college has 3 specializations: journalism, PR, and advertising and has been developing a strong relationship between academia and industry over years.

Madalina Moraru

My PhD. focused on the mythical dimension of the advertising. Therefore, I authorized 2 books in Romanian and over 20 articles in English, few chapters, I took part in many international conferences (around 25 in the last 7 years). I’m active by getting involved in the industry’s projects, and being invited to the most important events: Advertising Day, Fibra award,member in Romanian Effie Juries. I’m mostly in charge with working with students for AdVenture and Thesis competition.

IADE

IADE University intends to explore the cultural heritage and connect that to the sciences and contemporary art. As a pioneering institution in cultural and creative education in Portugal, the main focus of the university is on Design. IADE-U Institute of Art, Design and Enterprise – University is the new official name of the oldest institution of higher education in design in Portugal. Ph.D. in Intelligence Technologies and Digital Design from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo. Master in Contemporary Communication from Faculdade Cásper Líbero. Postgraduate in Marketing and Advertising Communication from Faculdade Cásper Líbero. Graduated in Graphic Design from Centro Universitário Belas Artes de São Paulo. Experienced in design and communication, which emphasizes advertising creation, creativity, and semiotics. Currently coordinator of the Master’s Program in Design & Advertising at IADE – Universidade Europeia in Lisbon and coordinator of the Pedagogical Practices in the same institution. He has worked in programs at institutions such as Faculdade Cásper Líbero, Centro Universitário Belas Artes de São Paulo, Universidade Anhembi Morumbi, and Faculdades Oswaldo Cruz. The main subjects taught at these institutions are semiotics, creative advertising, art direction, advertising design, and visual communication. Advisory Professor winner of DC’21 Bordallo Pinheiro by IADE in 2021, the 37th APP University Advertising Campaigns Contest in 2016, the 38th APP University Advertising Campaigns (Art Direction) Contest in 2017, and the Best Advisory Professor by Faculdade Cásper Líbero in 2016. Member of the following associations: International Association of Semiotics (IASS /AIS), International Association of Visual Semiotics (IAVS/AISV), and Association Française de Sémiotique (AFS).
