Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is the largest university in Greece. The main campus is located in the centre of the city of Thessaloniki, and covers an area of about 33.4 hectares. It comprises 10 faculties which consist of 40 schools and 1 single-School Faculty.

About 73.930 students study at the Aristotle University (65.026 in undergraduate programmes and 8.472 in postgraduate programmes, of which 3952 at Doctoral level). There are 2.024 faculty members. There are also 11 teaching assistants, 58 research fellows, 248 members of the Special Laboratory Teaching Personnel (S.L.T.P.), 69 of whom belong to category Ι and 179 to category ΙΙ, as well as 15 foreign language teachers and 4 foreign instructors. Faculty members are also assisted by 213 members of the Special Technical Laboratory Personnel (S.T.L.P.). The administration office consists of 400 permanent employees and 528 employees under a private law contract of indefinite duration. Moreover, 596 people employed by third parties provide services at the university.

 

Christina Boutsouki

Christina Boutsouki is a Professor of Marketing at the School of Economics, Department of Business Administration, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She is Director of Studies in the MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management and the MSc in Strategic Marketing.

She holds a BSc in Maths, an MSc in Operational Research, and a PhD in Marketing. Her research interests lie in the areas of Consumer Behaviour, Advertising, Neuromarketing and Social Media Marketing. Recent projects focus on the effectiveness of humorous advertising, the use and effectiveness of minimal advertising, consumer engagement in social media and the use of emotions in political communication. She has published her work in the International Journal of Advertising, Journal of Consumer Behavior, Journal of Promotion Management, Communication and Research Reports, Journal of Global Fashion Marketing, Food Research International, International Marketing Review, International Journal of Retail & Distribution Management, International Journal of Humor Research, Journal of Current Issues and Research in Advertising, Sustainability Journal and International Journal of Internet Marketing and Advertising among others.

 

The Hague University of Applied Sciences

The Hague University of Applied Sciences has more than 25,000 students and 1,800 staff members who come from over 145 different countries. THUAS offers 47 fulltime Bachelor’s programmes and 7 master’s programmes. It specialises its programmes in the areas of Technology, Innovation Society, Healthcare and Sports, ICT & Media, Education, Economics, Law, Safety and Security. Furthermore, the university offers research groups or ‘lectorates’ in a wide range of fields.

Tim HoppenAfter graduating in communication and linguistics, I decided to become a travel agent, because I enjoyed traveling so much. Eight years later I switched to Education. I have been working at THUAS for more than 20 years, where I lecture communication and critical thinking. Furthermore I am the chair of the thesis committee and I am part of the curriculum committee and a research group. Lieselot Vandamme

Lieselot Vandamme is a lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of Communications Management in Howest University College, Kortrijk, Belgium. She is also acting as International Relations Officer of the cluster Business and Media. She holds an MA in History, an MA in Radio & Television and a postgraduate in Business Management. Her academic work focuses on various fields such as Media, Corporate Communication, Storytelling and Sustainability. Prior to full-time lecturing, Lieselot worked as Producer and Editor of television programmes for public and private television channels in Flanders. This position allowed her to experience various aspects of the communication sector.
